Joshua Valoy (Known as JLover)

Born Feb 5, 1983 • Manhattan, NY

Joshua Valoy (JLover) was born February 5, 1983 in Manhattan, New York. Growing up, he heard all kinds of music and quickly gravitated toward Latin sounds.

At age 7 he began listening to Dominican artists like Ramon Orlando Valoy, Toño Rosario, Los Hermanos Rosarios, Eddy Herrera, and Fernando Villalona. At 17 he started composing his own songs and finding his own style.

In 2009 he recorded his first album “Amores Conflictivos” (10 songs: 6 originals + 4 covers). Covers include Regálame Una Noche, Un Siglo Sin Ti, Esta Vida Loca, and a bachata version of Regálame Una Noche. Arrangements by Roberto Suriel, recorded in the Dominican Republic.

His genre is a mix of Merengue Mambo with a romantic style. JLover continues performing with his band at private events and international presentations.
